Climate
Mean annual temperature is between 24ºC and 33 ºC. The dry season is from November to March.

Vehical Rental
Cars can be hired for around RM80 per day depending on the type of vehicle (remember in Malaysia to drive on the left side of the road). Motorcycles and bicycles are an easy to discover the island. Rental ranges from RM25 per day. Tou are advised to look out for wildlife crossing while driving. For foreign visitors, an international driving licence is required.

Non-Working Days
Government iffices are closed on Fridays but open on Sundays.

Bank and Money Changers
Banks and money changers are located at Kuah Town. Bank are open from 9.30am to 4pm from Mondays to Fridays and to 12noon on Saturdays. Money can be changed at most hotels, banks and the airport.

Phones
Pay phones located mostly at Kuah and Cenang Beach can be used with Telekom phone cards.

Medical Services
24 hours medical service is available at Langkawi Hospital (tel: 04-966 3333), a 10-minute drive from Kuah Town. Most clinics are located in Kuah.
